On Wednesday 27th November Donisthorpe and Whitwick St John played out the final of the Tag Rugby Competitions.
Donisthorpe were the hosts for the tournament.
Whitwick Played in their brand new light blue kit and Donisthorpe played in their traditional orange kit.
After a few weeks of bad weather we had finally found a break in the rain to play the final.
The final is a longer version of the other competition games. The games are 15 minutes each way with a small break for half time.
Whitwick St John won the toss and started with the ball.
At the half time both teams were drawing on 5 tries each.
With everything to play for in the second half Donisthorpe pulled ahead after a penalty. They managed to keep the lead and managed to secure another penalty a few minutes later giving them possession and the chance to score.
Donisthorpe managed to get ahead and stay 2 tries ahead at the end of the game.
With the final score being Donisthorpe 10 – Whitwick St John 8
Donisthorpe are now the NWLSSP Champions for Tag Rugby
