The North West Leicestershire School Sports Partnership (NWLSSP) has launched its first sponsorship agreement with local estate agents Alexanders. Alexanders, who have recently opened a new office in Ashby – de – la – Zouch, will be supporting the NWLSSP throughout 2017/18 with a donation for every property that is sold through the Ashby office. Each donation will support the NWLSSP Leadership Academy which is responsible for training and deploying over 250 young sports leaders each year giving them vital skills and experiences that will help them as they seek employment or higher education opportunities in later life.
Tom Smith, Senior Partner at Alexanders, said “The opportunity to support sport in local schools through the NWLSSP is superb. Growing up locally sport was a massive part of my school life, and is something that in my opinion can be very overlooked today. The work undertaken by the NWLSSP gives our local children the opportunity to participate and compete in a whole host of sports and activities. As a local independent firm I feel strongly that we should support our community, and have made a commitment to give back through the NWLSSP.”
The NWLSSP supports 43 schools across North West Leicestershire to provide high quality PE, inter school competitions and leadership opportunities amongst other services. Stuart Johnson, Director of Sport and Community Development, said “We’re delighted to be working with Alexanders. There is clearly a commitment on their behalf to help us create and sustain opportunities for local young to take part in high quality PE, sport and physical activity. The additional support this agreement will bring will allow us to give more young people opportunities to gain sports leadership qualifications and increase the numbers in our Leadership Academy.”
